Chemical upholstered furniture cleaning is an integral part of home maintenance. To keep your furniture clean, you need more than just occasional vacuuming. When planning deep furniture cleaning, you need to consider not only the upholstery material but also the most common mistakes to reduce the risk of material damage and avoid having to buy new furniture.
Newly purchased upholstered furniture must be cleaned.
When you bring new furniture or carpets into your home, they should be thoroughly cleaned to avoid allergic reactions due to furniture gas treatment. Before a carpet or furniture leaves the manufacturer, it is treated with special gases. These can cause allergic reactions, headaches, and unpleasant chemical odors. By cleaning the upholstery, you can avoid all of this.
Certain materials require specialized cleaning strategies
Deep upholstered furniture cleaning requires considerable knowledge and preparation. Depending on your upholstery material type, the cleaning process and chemistry used will differ. To evaluate appropriate cleaning agents and effective dirt cleaning method, the material must be assessed. For example, wool cannot be cleaned like cotton. Pay special attention to natural materials, such as leather, which may also need post-cleaning care to restore material oils.
Furniture cleaning is a complex process, so just vacuuming furniture is not enough. You’ll often need specialized cleaning agents to keep your upholstery clean longer. If you’re concerned about furniture or carpet cleaning, we’ll be happy to help you. 🙂

However, what if you want to clean a furniture stain yourself?
Furniture cleaning specialists agree that furniture cleaning becomes much more complicated if people tried to “rub out” stains from furniture before asking for professional help. Usually, this only prolongs the chemical cleaning time and negatively affects the final result.
If you decide to clean a furniture stain independently, remember:
- Without using a strong water vacuum, the dirt won’t disappear, but will only distribute evenly throughout the material.
- Chemistry will remain in the material or padding.
- Solvents found in household chemistry will help dirt settle even more into the material.
- After several cleanings, you’ll notice that the material has become less resistant and quickly gets dirty (dirt sticks to chemical residues in the material).
- After some time, light lines will appear in the background of dirt from brushes, etc. Then it will be practically impossible to clean the material well.
All of this can be avoided and your furniture can be saved by ordering professional help. Chemical upholstered furniture cleaning, which uses special chemistry that does its job and is later rinsed from the material, is the most suitable solution.

Most popular stain removal myths:
Do you have questions about furniture cleaning? We’ll help you!
How is upholstered furniture cleaning typically performed?
Our main cleaning method is water injection and extraction. This is the most commonly used and popular method for cleaning carpets and upholstered furniture. The advantage of using water is that the material is cleaned best. The disadvantage – using water carries risks of color fading or material shrinkage. This is where experience, training, and equipment quality come into play. Besides, there are alternative cleaning methods using dry chemistry or foam instead of water. These methods reduce the risks associated with using water, but in our opinion, without water rinsing, it’s impossible to fully clean an item. Imagine washing your clothes or hair using foam but not rinsing with water – would they be truly clean?
How long will my furniture take to dry after cleaning?
When determining drying time, we usually play it safe by saying it will dry completely in 6-8 hours. Can it dry faster? Yes. Air circulation in the room can speed up the drying process even more.
Can pet stains on furniture be removed?
Usually yes, but it’s important to act quickly. The longer the stain remains on the furniture, the less likely it is to clean 100 percent.
What if the stain returns after cleaning?
This is called “wicking.” A stain that appeared to be fully cleaned reappears as the furniture dries. This happens if the stain has deeply penetrated the padding and gradually rises to the surface with moisture while drying. If this happens, contact Kavosdeme.lt at 37060064774 within 36-48 hours after service completion. We will perform a repeat cleaning – free of charge. If more than 1 repeat cleaning is needed, regular prices will apply to further cleanings.
I’ve already tried cleaning the stain myself but couldn’t remove it completely. Can you do it?
We won’t know until we try. Each case has unique circumstances such as: what was spilled, what was used to clean, how much cleaner was used, was it dried properly, how long was the stain on the material before cleaning began, etc. We receive many similar calls and unfortunately, we can only guess if the stain can be 100% cleaned if it has already been attempted to clean independently.
Usually, the first attempt is the most important. If the furniture couldn’t be completely cleaned right away, with each additional cleaning there are fewer chances (not to mention the risk of defects due to material wear or stretching). Despite this, quite often (but not always) the second attempt is successful and you can enjoy clean furniture again.
